I discovered emkfits work last year when I used her dance hiit style work videos.
Im someone that struggles to do physical activity and I havent had a consistent routine. When I wanted to make changes to my health, emkfit was there for me and her Taylor Swift workout videos gave me such a big motivation to do consistent exercise for several months which hadnt happened before.
This year, I wanted to go back to a routine and I chose to purchase the book. I find that if you enjoy her videos, this is great for you, and its even better in a lot of ways.
What sets this book apart is how neat and organized it is. No need to constantly flip pages to follow the workout. Also, this book allows me to play any music I like in the background. I also really enjoy how approachable it is, how compassionate the language used for the book is. And I could feel results from the first time that I started using weights. I purchased my first set of dumbbells because of this book and I would have thought that it would be harder than running or following the dance workout videos. But I realize how much Ive been missing out because even if I dont do all of the workout perfectly. I still feel how much stronger I am getting in. How wonderful it feels and how this relieves stress and makes other activities like walking feel much better. The strength training is more effective in the results I see and feel in my body in less time than walking for long distances or the dance workout videos.
Yes, the book is more expensive than other cheaper books. But the value from her work and how concise, repeatable, flexible, customizable, organized and effective this is. It sets her work apart from the rest.
2 tips for using this book.
Its okay that its not perfectly followed. Just start and do what you can. If thats a bit each day, or you havent done it for a while. Thats okay. You have nothing to be afraid of and youll thank yourself for taking the time to do this for yourself. Its not different from what emkfit says in her videos to go wrong and strong. Shes absolutely right.
Next is to eat well.
When I started her dance videos last year, I hadnt had a routine for consistent exercise before and my goal was to both increase activity and reduce food intake. And honestly, it gave results but I was always so hungry. My energy levels increased so much that I had difficulty sleeping. Thats on me and not on the quality of emkfits videos or work. But because it was my first time regularly working out. I didnt know what to expect and I was just googling everything and seeing what was normal or not.
Buying this book the year after. I resolved to eat more. And as the book says, focus on strength and doing this for you. Because I didnt aim for rapid loss and just focused on strength. I slept so much better and it feels more sustainable and something that I can continue to use this book for, for a good long term.
I love this format because as an introvert. I have never gone to work out in a public gym or with a trainer. But this allows me to work on my own and time and I applaud her work and philosophy that have allowed me to do things I wouldnt have seen myself able to do before.

Strength training was never fun to me. I was mostly a cardio girl, but I knew that strength training would bei good for me. After discovering Emily's awesome HIIT videos, I stumbled across Strong AF Flex and it's perfect for me! As I go horseback riding twice a week and attend a group fitness class once a week, I needed a program that fit my schedule and this one does a great job. It consists of 3 workouts (Death By Leg Day, Upper Bod Squad, Full Body Burn) a week, but you can also only 2 of them each week. That's what I do. I'm currently in week 12 of my 2nd round and I will start a 3rd round with heavier weights next week.

I love this workout! It's not too crazy and you can pick whether you want to make it harder (heavier weights) or not. I love that I can throw on a podcast or music to do it to. I also only work out 2-3 times a week so this was perfect. I love it!!! 100% recommend!
This is the first program I’ve bought and it’s genuinely changed my life. I am a busy working parent, and needed something that would fit with my changing schedule but also kick my behind into shape - flex certainly delivered.
Currently on week 9 but I feel so much stronger physically and mentally. The workouts are set out in an easy to follow format, and the videos to show each move are just so handy.
The beauty of flex means you can really switch it round to suit your schedule or drop it down to two workouts in the week, and you still see results! Definitely recommend giving it a go!
